Our Staff

Russ Goedjen is the General Manager here at Shelter Bay Marina.   Russ has lived in Panama for over 30 years. He was involved in the creation and operation of the Pedro Miguel Boat Club before joining Shelter Bay. 

Bruce Winship is the Resident Marina Manager. Bruce has a BS degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He was Quality Control Manager for a large San Francisco construction firm before he retired to go cruising with his family. He leads our haul out and dry storage facilities team. 

Lina Jaramillo and Migdalia Vargas head up our office staff. They both speak english and monitor VHF 74 and can help you with reservations, general inquiries or guide you to your slip. These “wonder women” keep our office running smoothly.

Victor Maldonado is our bus driver. He speaks english and knows his way around Colon and the surrounding areas. If you want to know whether an item is available in Colon and where to locate it, just ask Victor.

Jorge Vega leads our facilities group here at the marina. His crew keeps the docks, buildings and grounds clean, well maintained and secure. 

Anderson manages our marina restaurant. He and his staff look forward to serving you.

Our haul out team is Bruce, Victor, Edgar Rodriguez, Angel Tono, Melquiades Gutierrez, Agustin Alveo and Ezequiel Jimenez. The team has been factory trained on the Travelift and Hostar hydraulic trailer equipment and look forward to working together with you to ensure a safe and efficient haul out.

Victor Borguez leads our work yard crew. He has over 20 years of experience in and around boats.  He has expertise in prepping and bottom painting, blister repair jobs and fiberglass work.

Moises Jimenez mans the marina tool room.

Ramon Rios is our carpenter.  He has many years experience working with wood, fiberglass, varnish and paints.
